Executive Officer

Dear BBIA Members,

I would like to take this time to introduce myself. I have lived in the Bitterroot Valley for over 35 years, have 3 children and an amazing husband, who encouraged me to join the Builders Association (BBIA).  We share 3 businesses together: Stringline Design, Treasure State Builders and Treasure State Express. Since I have been a part of the BBIA, my passion for the community and its members has grown exponentially, which sparked my involvement to sit on the board and become a member of the Professional Women in Building.

As I enter my term as President, I want to highlight some important topics.

I am proud to announce that we have increased our membership to over 100, this year! This achievement has happened through the commitment of our executive officer, Angela Previte-Barnhouse, as well, a few dedicated members who help organize and execute events, fundraisers, and the general day to day business.  We would love to see more of you get involved and become a part of something bigger to help ensure the success of our industry in the Bitterroot Valley.

We have several events already scheduled for this year. First, we have the Home Expo kicking off here in February, this is a great way to get your company in the face of the consumer. We have the Builder Breakfast every 3rd Wednesday of the month, to introduce new members & products that can be useful to you. We have general membership meetings (GMM’s), where you can network with fellow members, have dinner and drinks. The Trap shoot is in May, the Golf tournament is in June and are always enjoyable. We have our coveted Tour of Homes slated in for September 22-24th. Our brand-new Hard hats & heels charity is in November. Lastly, Professional Women in Building (PWB) meet every 4th Thursday of the month, which is engaged to introduce the youth into our industry. Please contact the BBIA office to ensure your contact information is up to date and to keep you informed of all the events this year!

The many benefits the BBIA has to offer should more than pay for your membership fee. Please ask us how to take advantage of the free safety training GRIP program, Verizon, GM, car rental, and other many discounts.  Also, being a member can get you free legal and financial advice through the NAHB experts. There is a complete Education resource through BBIA, MBIA and NAHB along with a free Builder magazine subscription!

On another note, this year we will be in a legislative year, which your membership will help with National legislation, and give you comfort that there is local and state representation that is protecting and advocating for your industry.

Henry Ford once said, “If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.”  As a group of individuals, success is a challenge, but with the help of many, we can continue to grow this great association and strengthen the community of Builders and Associates throughout our valley.  If we build something we can be proud of today, we can leave a legacy that our future generations can appreciate tomorrow!

Sincerely,
Angela Stringham
Your BBIA President 2023
